Types of Decks

There are many types of tarot decks are available and there is no standard number of cards across all decks. The illustrations of card vary greatly though the cards, the suits and their meanings are same. The decks are classified on the basis of various themes such as animals, nature, dragons, fantasy, etc. The most commonly used deck is the Rider-Waite deck that was created in 1909 by A.E. Waite and published by Rider & company. He was a prominent member of the occult group the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
